Scholarships at the McIntire School of Commerce

Financial Aid

McIntire students have the opportunity to participate in all financial aid programs offered through the University’s Student Financial Services Office. This office works with parents and students to determine student needs, eligibility, and award amounts.

McIntire Scholarships

Each year, through the generosity of corporations, alumni, and friends, the McIntire School can award scholarships to support deserving students.

Undergraduate Global Scholarships

If you need financial support, we encourage you to apply for a global scholarship.  These scholarships are available for Commerce students that are participating in a global abroad program. The scholarship recipients are selected by Commerce School administrators. Scholarship money is credited directly to the recipients’ SIS account through Student Financial Services for the semester they will be studying abroad.

Undergraduate Scholarships

These funds are distributed through the UVA Student Financial Services Office as part of the student’s award package. McIntire scholarship recipients are selected by Commerce School faculty and administrators in the spring of the student's third year, and the scholarship money is credited to the recipient's fourth-year tuition bills. Most of the scholarships are need-based; some are based on academic or career interests or academic achievement. To be considered for these scholarships, third-year McIntire students complete one application for all scholarships and submit a current resume. Applicants are matched with a scholarship based on the aforementioned criteria, so applicants are not expected to specify interest in specific scholarships. A limited number of need-based scholarships are also available to support McIntire students participating in a McIntire study-abroad semester program or May-term or January-term Commerce abroad course.

Graduate Scholarships

Scholarship recipients are selected by M.S. Commerce School faculty and administrators during the spring semester, and the scholarship money is awarded to students in order to help with GIE costs. All of the scholarships are need-based; academic achievement and UVa community involvement are also taken into account. To be considered for these scholarships, M.S. in Commerce students complete one application for all scholarships and submit a current resume. Applicants are matched with a scholarship based on the aforementioned criteria, so applicants are not expected to specify interest in specific scholarships.
